This week we kick off our core stability series with the “Deadbug” exercise. Remember the key to properly executing this exercise is maintaining intra-abdominal pressure throughout the entire movement. Having the ability to breathe diaphragmatically is crucial.
Please stop the exercise if at any point you catch yourself holding your breath, can no longer keep your back on the table/floor, or you notice a “doming” of the front abdominal area.
This exercise is foundational in our office, especially with many of our low back pain patients that suffer from instability or excessive movement in that area.
Attack this once per day with the goal of getting 8 to 10 quality repetitions per side.
